The Lion Hill Film Fund was created to support filmmakers in bringing socially and culturally significant films to life. Unlike traditional commercial film financing, we prioritize artistic and intellectual impact over profit, allowing visionary filmmakers to tell stories that might otherwise struggle to secure funding.
How It Works
Our fund operates as an equity-based model, where investors, donors, and partners receive a share in the project’s financial success—but with the understanding that many socially impactful films do not generate high commercial returns. This model attracts both philanthropists and investors who believe in cinema as a force for cultural change.

Our first major project is Being Human, a feature documentary co-produced with Plattform Produktion, directed by Maximilian van Aertryck & Axel Danielson (Fantastic Machine, Sundance & Berlinale winner).
